Hands up if you think that list should include a cattle prod to remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road instead of updating their Facebook status…
The Coupé is being aggressively marketed as the sportiest mini thus far, with "go-kart like handling". If we had any doubts about those claims, they were erased by a couple of hot laps riding shotgun in the 250-hp, 24-Hour Nürburgring JCW coupe race car, a genuine, raucously nasty, stripped GT racer featuring a twin-scroll turbocharger, adjustable shocks, a welded roll cage and an adjustable rear wing.
The MINI Cooper Coupé is built in Oxford, Britain, with a convertible version called the Roadster to follow in spring of 2012.
Prices start at $25,950 for the Cooper Coupé, $31,150 for Cooper S Coupé and $38,400 for the JCW (compared to $23,950, $28,950 and $36,900 for the Hatch model).
