The 2013 edition of the North-American A5 and the S5 will get their first alterations when they will enter their sixth year of production
Both versions receive redesigned headlights, grille and bumpers as well as new paint and convertible soft-top colours. Inside, the cars benefit from a new steering wheel and column stalks, a new shift lever design, new colour schemes as well as a new selection of upholstery and inlays. A new driver information system, the addition of Audi active lane assist and reworked infotainment systems also highlight the changes for 2013.
Under the hood, the turbo 2.0-litre will remain unchanged, although a 272-hp, supercharged 3.0-litre V6 will be added to the European line-up, and we assume it will be offered in North America as well. The optional 6-speed automatic, dubbed Tiptronic, should be replaced by the S tronic 7-speed, dual-clutch gearbox in quattro models.
As for the S5, the coupe’s 4.2-litre V8 will make way for the 333-hp, supercharged V6 that currently equips the convertible version.
Both the A5 and the S5 will gain electromechanical power steering, which is said to provide precise road feedback as well as improved fuel economy.
