Malibu gets better than ever, adds Eco model for 2013
Shoppers will take in the 2013 Malibu experience from an all-new cabin that features more room, less noise, more premium materials, and even higher levels of craftsmanship than before. Malibu’s cabin was one of its strong points, and 2013 sees things dialed up with the addition of some 113 litres of extra volume. The wider body frees up even more hip and shoulder room, too.

Chevrolet says they’ve expanded storage capacity throughout the cabin, and even fitted an articulating radio face that flips open and closed for access to a 6" deep hidden storage compartment behind it, like in the Orlando.

Look for upscale touches like metallic trim, contrast stitching and new color radio systems. The latest in multimedia connectivity and smartphone-ready OnStar functionality will also be on board.

Other advanced technologies will include a lane departure warning system with forward collision alert, a rearview camera system and hydraulic brake-fade assist. The latter feature ensures drivers always have access to plenty of stopping power, even if the Malibu’s brakes are fading from excessive use.

Finally, a new ride and handling package enhances Malibu’s driving character, and engineers say the 2013 model will be the most finely tuned Malibu yet. A premium, rack-mounted electric power steering gear is even employed for smooth, precise responsiveness and greater on-center feel.

It all sounds exciting, upscale and delightfully European-inspired. The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is expected to go on sale next spring or summer.
