In one swift press release, Chrysler has answered all questions pertaining to their newest compact car. As the title states, it will be called Dart, harking back to what started out as a full-size car in 1960 and ended up a compact three years later.
We guessed that the Alfa Romeo Giulietta was to serve as basis for the new car and we were right. What does this mean? From the renderings, the car will be quite a looker, blending Italian flare and design to Dodge's typically bold in-your-face attitude.
The car will feature three advanced engines of which the first two will be sourced from the new Tigershark family. The base unit will displace 2.0L, mid-range will be a 2.4L MultiAir, and the top motor will be the 1.4L MultiAir Turbo, very much like the one in the tested Giulietta.
The new 2013 Dodge Dart will see the light for the first time at the upcoming 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
