Price
The 2013 Honda CR-Z will arrive in Canadian showrooms in the summer of 2013, with an MSRP of $24,085, which is $1,495 more than its predecessor.

Fuel Economy
Honda estimates have the CR-Z consuming 6.5/5.3 L/100 km (city/highway) for the manual transmission model and 5.6/5.0 L/100 km for the automatic version.

New and Improved
The cockpit benefits from a new 3-D glowing instrument panel that shifts colours to indicate which mode has been engaged, passing from green to blue to red as driving mode is changed from economy to speed.

New trim panels have been added along with more generous storage bins in comparison to the 2012 model.

Exterior Styling
The 2013 CR-Z exterior benefits from a new grille, LED headlights and a new rear bumper skirt. The rear fender lines flow upwards into the diminutive side window. Racy 16-inch alloy wheels complete this makeover.
Exterior colour choices are limited to either Milano Red or Premium White Pearl.

Cargo Capacity
711 litres of available space when backseats are lowered

Drivetrain
The 2013 CR-Z is powered by a 16-valve 1.5 litre SOHC inline-4 teamed to an electric motor. The new Plus Sport System activates the electric power on demand, providing extra power by a simple press of the steering-wheel integrated 'S' button.

For the 2013 model, power from the electric motor has increased from 10 KW to 15 KW thanks to a higher voltage lithium-ion battery. The CR-Z now produces 130 hp – that’s an 8-hp increase over the previous model.

The 2013 CR-Z comes with either 6-speed manual gearbox or continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Safety
The 2013 C-Z is equipped with 6 airbags, traction control, vehicle stability assist, and immobilizer theft-deterrent system. In addition, a rear backup camera, extended-vision side rearview mirrors, and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink™ system are also available.

Comparable Models**
The CR-Z is virtually in a class of its own at the moment. Certain non-hybrid models can be considered as potential rivals such as:
  • MINI Cooper;
  • Scion tC;
  • Hyundai Veloster.
