For 2013, Lexus is looking to make life tough for the Range Rover, Cadillac Escalade and Navigator with its 8-seat SUV, the LX 570 featuring 4WD.
Like its predecessor, the 2013 Lexus LX 570 is powered by a 5.7L, DOHC V8 that puts down 383 hp and 403 lb-ft of torque. Standard equipment includes a 6-speed automatic transmission, an adaptive variable suspension, 20” alloy wheels and ventilated disc brakes.
The driver gets a heated and ventilated 10-way power seat with 3-position memory. The 8-way power passenger seat is also heated and ventilated. The 20/20/40 split middle bench folds and tumbles, while the 50/50 split third bench has a power fold up function. All are draped in perforated leather, with a premium leather option.
The tilt and telescopic steering wheel is also covered in leather and includes wood trim and audio controls. Cruise control, a built-in garage door opener, a smart key, push-button start and Intuitive Parking Assist all come standard. Available options include a heated steering wheel, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and a centre console cooler.
The 2013 Lexus LX 570 is fitted with a power sunroof, a rear step bumper, a chrome grille, power folding heated mirrors linked to the seat memory system, variable intermittent front wipers, autolevelling Xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lights, fog lights and an adaptive front lighting system.
The stereo includes nine loudspeakers, a CD/MP3/WMA player, auxiliary and USB ports, Bluetooth, satellite radio and a 6-DVD changer built into the dash. Music lovers can opt for a Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system as part of the options package. The 450-watt system includes 19 speakers, 7.1 channel architecture, an audio and DVD remote control, 2 sets of wireless headphones and a DVD entertainment system with two 7” VGA screens in back.
