Cons

Fuel economy has been improved thanks to the optimized stop/start function and the improved exhaust heat recovery. City/highway/combined fuel economy ratings for the Prius v are rated at 4.3/4.8/4.5 L/100 km.

Exterior Styling

The 'v' in Prius v stands for versatility, as the 2013 Toyota Prius v is more practical than the standard Prius. Although it is longer, wider, more spacious than the traditional Prius, it manages to retain the triangular shape of the original.

Standard equipment includes 16-inch wheels (17-inch optional), LED taillights, touch-sensor door and rear hatch handles, chrome grille and roof deflector.

Interior

Inside, the Prius v comes equipped with standard backup camera, and a fuel and battery-energy use indicator, among others.

The ecoresponsible audio system consumes 50% less energy and is powered by an amplifier that is 66% lighter. The GreenEdge speakers offer double the range for half the energy.

The driver-oriented instrument panel has distinctive colours, going from silver for driving info to black for the multifunction screen.

Drivetrain
The Prius v is powered by a 1.8 litre 4-cylinder electronic injection engine and the Hybrid Synergy Drive system. A CVT transmission delivers the 134 hp to the front wheels.

Safety features in the 2013 Prius V include; 7 airbags, active headrests, advance warning and pre-collision system. Toyota's STAR system is also standard in every version.
