Pros: The 2014 Lexus LS 460 is a full-size luxury sedan that provides exceptional comfort to the driver and passengers. The interior is also remarkably quiet and appointed with some of the finest materials you'll ever see. And don't forget about Lexus' stellar reputation for initial quality and reliability.

Cons: Are you the nitpicking type? Well, you could point to the sedan's large turning radius (close to 12 metres in long-wheelbase configuration) and numb steering, but that's it. With the LS 460, it's best to leave driving duties to your chauffeur, anyway.

2014 Lexus LS 460 Price: There are three models to choose from including LS 460 RWD at $84,650, LS 460 AWD at $87,950, and LS 460 L AWD at $101,150.

2014 Lexus LS 460 Fuel Economy: Weighing nearly two full tons and using a big V8 engine is no way to set fuel economy standards. The LS 460 RWD achieves 12.9L/100km in the city and 8.2L/100km on the highway. Meanwhile, LS 460 AWD and LS 460 L AWD models burn 13.5L and 8.7L/100km, respectively.

Improvements and Changes: A 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference sound system has been added along with new body colour options.

2014 Lexus LS 460 Powertrain: There's just one combo, but it's a great one -- a 4.6L V8 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual mode (and paddle shifters when you select the F-Sport package). Output is rated at 386 horsepower in RWD configuration, but just 360 horsepower in AWD configuration.

Cargo Capacity: The 2014 Lexus LS 460 packs quite an amount of luggage inside its 510-litre trunk.

Safety: Standard features include stability and traction control, disc brakes with ABS, brake assist and electronic brake force distribution, as well as smart stop technology, which automatically cuts engine power and allows the brakes to take precedence over the accelerator when both pedals are pressed at the same time. There are 10 airbags and available technologies like head-up display, night vision, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

Comparing the 2014 Lexus LS 460: If you can afford to buy a Lexus LS 460, make sure you also take a look at the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8, and BMW 7 Series.
