McLaren revealed the first model of its Sports Series, the 570S Coupe, ahead of the world premiere at the 2015 New York Auto Show on Wednesday. The Sports Series joins the Super Series and Ultimate Series to complete the three-tier McLaren range being shown together for the first time in the Big Apple.
Equipped with a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 562 horsepower, the 570S Coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, while 200 km/h is reached in just 9.5 seconds. Drivers can also thank the 19” front and 20” rear wheels with Pirelli tires, and the MonoCell carbon fibre chassis which contributes to a dry weight of just 1,313kg (2,895lbs), almost 150kg lighter than its closest competitor.
The cockpit of the McLaren 570S Coupe features a full infotainment system including an all-new TFT digital instrument cluster that changes configuration according to driving mode, a 7” IRIS touchscreen, and SIRIUS satellite radio (depending on market), mounted on a ‘floating’ centre console. Further interior customization is available with a range of factory available Alcantara, nappa leather and carbon fibre options.
