The winners of the 2015 World Car Awards, as voted by a panel of more than 70 auto journalists from all around the globe, were announced last week at the New York Auto Show.
The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class won the prestigious 2015 World Car of the Year award, following the Audi A3 in 2014, Volkswagen Golf in 2013, Volkswagen Up! in 2012, Nissan LEAF in 2011, and Volkswagen Polo in 2010. It edged out the Ford Mustang and Volkswagen Passat.
Actually, the German automaker pulled a trifecta, securing the 2015 World Luxury Car of the Year award with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and the 2015 World Performance Car of the Year award with the Mercedes-AMG GT.
Meanwhile, the BMW i8 won the 2015 World Green Car of the Year award, and the Citroën C4 Cactus took home the 2015 World Car Design of the Year award.
