The all-new 2017 Audi A5 Coupe and S5 Coupe yesterday celebrated their global premiere during a special event at the company’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany. Both models will go on sale this fall.
Behind the new Audi A5’s much flatter and broader Singleframe grille and under the long hood sporting new character lines is a selection of 2.0L and 3.0L engines ranging from 190-286 horsepower. Output and fuel economy are improved 17% and 22%, respectively, from the first generation. The engines available in Canada will be specified at a later date.
We do know that the Audi S5 receives a turbocharged V6 rated at 354 horsepower, which is 21 more than its predecessor.
The cars benefit from an all-new chassis, a damping control system, and electromechanical power steering. They also offer more cargo room in addition to a host of modern technologies such as updated navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rear cross traffic alert, a pre-collision system, adaptive cruise control, and more.
