The all-new 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 was unveiled today and is set to go on sale late this year. The main highlight, of course, is the new supercharged 6.2L V8 engine that produces an estimated 640 horsepower through a 6-speed manual transmission or a new 10-speed automatic transmission.
“The Camaro ZL1 is designed to excel at everything,” said Mark Reuss, executive vice president of Global Product Development. “It’s a 2+2 coupe offering incredible performance ― acceleration, handling and braking ― with the highest levels of technology and perfect chassis damping, making it suitable for everyday driving. It will compare well to any sports coupe, at any price and in any setting.”
The 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 rides on exclusive forged alloy wheels and 20” Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires. These are slowed down by powerful Brembo brakes with 6-piston callipers. Inside, you’ll find standard Recaro sport seats and a suede flat-bottom steering wheel. Chevrolet’s Performance Data Recorder is available.
