The 2018 Acura RLX will make its first appearance any day at Canadian dealerships, sporting a new design inspired by the Acura Precision concept, similarly to the TLX sedan and the MDX crossover.
The hood, wheels and LED taillights have all been redesigned to create a sportier look, which is further accentuated by the exposed dual exhaust finishers and glossy black rear diffuser. In addition, the model comes in six different available colour options.
Inside, the 2018 Acura RLX gets new high-end materials and new esthetic details, like completely redesigned Milano leather seats with contrasting piping and stitching and a new Saddle Brown interior colour option, as well as an available black headliner.
A choice of two models
Acura is offering two versions of the new RLX; each comes with all-wheel drive and a sport hybrid powertrain, which includes a direct-injection V6 and three electric motors for a total output of 377 hp and 341 lb-ft of torque. Fuel consumption comes in at 8.4L/100 km (city) and 8.2L/100 km (highway).
At $65,490, the 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD includes head-up display, a premium ELS Studio audio system with 14 speakers, two-way remote engine starter, LED fog lights and a heated steering wheel.
Slightly costlier at $69,990, the 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWD Elite adds an exclusive Krell audio system, a power rear sunshade, a surround-view camera system, ventilated front seats and more.
Beefed-up safety
In both trims, standard equipment also includes the AcuraWatch safety and drive assist package of systems, now boosted by the addition of Traffic Jam Assist, which works together with the adaptive cruise control and the Low Speed Follow systems, all designed to make life more chill in even the biggest traffic jams!
