Driver’s ed on a snowy track, as fun as it is practical

Wintertime: the signal for most of us to head for the nearest ski hill, skis or boards in tow, or cower under the covers until spring, depending. But what if your speed is more attacking a snow-covered track at the wheel of a Porsche?

The Porsche Camp4 Canada program is back for 2018 and calling all those who want to hone their driving skills in difficult winter conditions during a thrilling Porsche experience. Over the course of several days, participants drive Porsche cars on two different tracks, two large skidpads and two challenging handling courses that will test their skills and concentration.

The program’s on-site instructors are experts in sport driving and as passionate about Porsche cars as the participants, and have developed a program adapted to all levels of drivers.

Different levels of training are offered: the regular Camp4 (cost: $5,495), for which the only remaining open spots (at time of writing) are for the Jan. 31- Feb 3 session; and Camp 4S (cost: starting at $6,795), open to those who have already completed the regular Camp4, and which is taking place from Feb. 6 to 10.

The sessions take place at the Mécaglisse complex in the Laurentians north of Montreal, with accommodations provided at the Esterel resort, internationally renowned for its cuisine, modern decor and breath-taking scenery.

Don’t delay if you want to register -- the sessions are coming up fast! But even if you can’t make it this year, there’s always next winter. Take note that our Auto123.com contributor Luc Gagné will be taking part in the Porsche Camp4 program, and will be writing about his experience later in February.
