The lineup welcomes new trims

Toyota has announced pricing and details for the new 2019 Toyota C-HR. For its 2nd year the Compact High-Rider gets new versions, more advanced tech.
For 2019, the C-HR (for Compact High-Rider) is offered in four different trims and in a choice of new colours, and comes with a wider range of standard equipment. The base price for the model’s second year on the market is $23,675 for the entry-level LE trim. The 2019 C-HR is available at Toyota dealers as of now.

Among the new features for 2019 are a windshield-de-icing system, a larger 8-inch display screen featuring a backup camera, Entune 3.0 and Apple CarPlay with Smart Device Link. The XLE and XLE Premium trim levels are enhanced with Entune Audio 3.0 Plus. The new Limited trim level introduces leather seating, ambient lighting and rain-sensing wipers to the C-HR model this year.

Esthetically, the 2019 preserves the outgoing model’s sporty contours and stance, including the higher ground clearance and angled rear window, as well as slim projector-style headlamps, LED daytime running lights, colour-keyed mirrors, a cantilevered rear spoiler and sculpted taillights.

The interior offers room for up to 1,031 liters of cargo behind the front seats (the back row is 60/40 split fold-down). The steering wheel and shift knob are leather-wrapped for a touch of high end luxury, while the instrument panel features a piano black trim accent, soft-touch materials, and diamond-pattern accents.

Under the hood, C-HR’s 2.0L four-cylinder engine sends up to 144 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels via a CVT transmission with intelligent shift. Sequential shift mode provides manual-like shifting between 7 virtual gears, while Sport Driving Mode amps up the throttle response.

New for 2019, all models feature Entune 3.0, Apple CarPlay and Smart Device Link. These complement the C-HR’s new 8-inch Display Audio system with six speakers and steering wheel-mounted controls plus Bluetooth connectivity, the Aha Audio System Internet Radio and Gracenote Database. Also included is dual-zone air conditioning, and a 4.2-inch multi-information display with steering wheel-mounted controls.

All new C-HR models come standard equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P. (this suite of technologies is now now standard on 95% of Toyota vehicles). It includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection function that provides forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist function, Automatic High Beams and full speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Other standard safety features include the six active technologies of the Toyota Star Safety System and a backup camera.

The XLE adds 17-inch alloy wheels, Entune 3.0 Audio Plus, heated front seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and a two-way powered lumbar support adjustment on the driver’s seat.
