HILLSOBORO, N.H., - OSRAM SYLVANIA, the world leader in automotive lighting solutions, announces today the launch of 58 new automotive lighting products. The array of new headlight and signal bulbs, the most SYLVANIA has launched in its automotive lighting division's history, represent the company's response to changes in the market and consumer demand.
The new offerings from SYLVANIA include:
EcoBright Headlights
SYLVANIA EcoBright headlights offer excellent downroad and sideroad visibility while helping reduce environmental impact. The bulbs use nine to 21 percent less energy than SAE maximum design specifications, and are 25 percent brighter compared to aged standard bulbs. Over the life of a pair of bulbs, drivers can save from $2 to $19 in fuel costs and reduce a car's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions nine to 21 percent, or from 13 to 107 pounds, compared to bulbs operating to SAE standard maximums. If only one percent of registered cars switched to EcoBright, 21 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions would be avoided annually.
EcoBright bulbs contain no cadmium or mercury, and qualify as lead-free by automotive regulatory agencies and the National Drinking Water Regulation for Public Water Systems. The eco-friendly bulbs will be on display in the AAPEX GreenWay, which promotes energy efficient and environmentally friendly products.
SilverStar Signal Bulbs
SYLVANIA SilverStar Signal Bulbs are up to 30 percent brighter, up to 20 percent whiter and allow motorists to see up to 10 percent farther and wider compared to worn standard signal bulbs. The bulbs can be used for any signal application, offering motorists the greatest benefit when used for backing up.
"Rear visibility can be limited, especially in vehicles with high or tinted rear windows," Verbanic said. "SilverStar Signal Bulbs are ideal for back up applications, making it easier for drivers to see and avoid obstacles behind their vehicle. Compared to aged standard signal lighting, these bulbs also offer a brighter light when used for turn and stop signals."
H11 bulbs for SilverStar® and XtraVision®
Studies have shown that whiter, brighter halogen lighting can help improve reaction time, increase nighttime visibility and provide better roadside viewing. H11 bulbs for low beam headlights provide high luminance and color temperature for increased nighttime visibility. SYLVANIA developed the new line of H11 bulbs for SilverStar and XtraVision in response to consumer demand and changes in automotive equipment manufacturing.
SilverStar headlights are up to 35 percent brighter, offering up to 30 percent more down road visibility and up to 35 percent more side road visibility compared to worn standard bulbs. XtraVision headlights are up to 30 percent brighter and offer up to 25 percent more downroad visibility.
Long-life Signal Bulbs
SYLVANIA also offers a wide array of long-life signal bulbs for consumers. The 44 new products expand the company's total line to 79 long-life signal bulbs.
