Nissan offers comprehensive accessories to cube owners--including mood-lights and shag
Looking to set the mood? Cube’s optional LED lighting system casts the color of your choice into various parts of the cabin after dark. Purple, green, blue or red lighting shines into the footwells, front cupholder and lower door panels-- and the color and shade can be adjusted with the turn of a knob.

The LED mood lighting system offers plenty of visual impact, and is priced at $532. It goes nicely with the illuminated-entry door sills, which are made of stainless steel and light up when the doors are opened. A novelty feature, these trick sills offer a taste of the high-luxury car world for about $334 bucks.

Looking for something a bit more functional? Cube’s special bungee cords are sold in various colors to fit your tastes. A two-pack runs $39, and they attach to the armrest on each front door, strapping your favorite small items securely in place. Wondering where you put your gum, movie tickets or that hot girl’s phone number will become a thing of the past.

Cube’s signature accessory is perhaps the shag dashboard topper.

Have a lot of stuff to keep organized? A 3-pack of ripple hooks ($35) can be had in a variety of colors. The hooks are clipped into several locations where they serve as a place to hang various items-- including one of cube’s available storage pouches ($62). Combined, they’re a unique approach to interior styling, not to mention a fairly clever storage solution.

Finally, trim panels can be added in numerous colors to the front armrests and heat-vents, helping set the cube’s dash and doors off nicely. The 8-piece kit will set owners back about $396.

The Nissan-made accessories are relatively costly compared to the impending stream of eBay knockoffs-- though they are guaranteed, sure to fit, and built to the same standards as the rest of the vehicle.

If owning one of the strangest-looking vehicles of the century doesn’t turn enough heads for your tastes, a few of these add-ons will be sure to do the trick. Hit your local Nissan dealer or www.nissan.ca for more information, or to spec-out your own custom cube.
