The U.S. fuel economy numbers look okay on paper, but real world results will depend greatly on how the RDX is driven.

A 5-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift will be standard on the RDX, says Miller This means as well as being a regular automatic, the transmission will allow the driver to shift manually using steering-wheel-mounted paddles.

The SH-AWD is also standard in the RDX and it's meant "to maximize available traction while improving handling balance and responsiveness." It's sort of a cross between an all-wheel-drive system and a stability control program, in other words.

Miller says that "responsive handling is further aided by fully independent front and rear suspensions."

Styling points of note would include standard 18-inch wheels and the rear hatch that allows for easy cargo loading.

RDX offers a distinctive array of electronic features, Miller says, including a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a Multi-Information Display, and LED backlit gauges with progressive illumination.

Also standard is a 360-watt seven-speaker Acura Premium Sound System with a multi-format six-disc changer, AM/FM tuner, and an MP3/auxiliary input jack for audio devices such as an Apple iPod.

The Technology Package is the sole option on the RDX, and Miller says it "heightens the RDX's appeal to technology-savvy customers with a range of advanced features, the centerpiece of which is a 10-speaker Acura/ELS Surround Premium Sound System. Also included is HandsFreeLink that works with many Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and the Acura Navigation System with Bi-lingual Voice Recognition.
