ALMS: Luhr and Graf win seventh straight at Austin

Germans Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf earned their seventh straight win of the season, Saturday, went the checkered flag of the International Sports Car Weekend dropped on the Circuit of the Americas, in Austin, Texas.

Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia raced to a win of their own in the GT class.

Luhr and Klaus, who clinched the overall title in ALMS already in Baltimore, started from pole and built a two-lap advantage on Tony Burgess and Chris McMurry over the 83-lap contest.

In GT, the race was much closer as Magnussen and Garcia beat Jonathan Bomarito and Kuno Wittmer’s Dodge Viper SRT by a mere second. Their performance allowed them back to the top of the drivers’ standings in the race for the championship.

Ryan Briscoe and Chris Tucker led a Level 5 Motorsports 1-2 in the P2 category.

Kyle Marcelli and Chris Cumming won in LMPC, while Damien Faulkner and Ben Keating topped the GTC field.
