Stephane Sarrazin took the pole position of the 12Hours of Sebring on Friday.

His Peugeot 908 had the best of the Audi R15 of rival Timo Bernhard. But if Peugeot managed to stay on top at the beginning of the race, Audi never fell far down and is definitely not to be forgotten.

Positions are constantly changing between the two Peugeot 908 cars and the Audi R15 No. 2 in Sebring. Three hours into the event, Anthony Davidson was on the lead where Tom Kristensen was standing only minutes before.

Kristensen and teammates Dindo Capello and Allan McNish had qualified 4th.

Stephane Sarrazin was second but he lead earlier in this hour and was expected to battle for the lead up until the end of the race - unless his car experience some problems.

Frank Montagny and Pedro Lamy are codriving the No. 8 car of Sarrazin while Alexander Wurz and Marc Gene are codriving the No. 7 Peugeot that started in second position this morning.

Simon Pagenaud had also invited himself on top at the start of the hour. He was in third position despite having started the race in 7th place.

Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Mike Rockenfeller had started in second position for Audi before falling to 29th three hours in the 24hours race.

In GT competition, Gianmaria Bruni took the pole position on board of the Ferrari F430 he shares with Giancarlo Fisichella and Pierre Kaffer. Kaffer was sixth in class three hours in the race.

Bill Auberlen, who qualified third in class with teammates Augusto Farfus and Dirk Werner, were leading the GT division from the 14th spot overall. Joey Hand was second and Toni Vilander, third.
