Jean-Philippe Dayraut (BMW 1 Series) won both races presented on the track of Saint Die des Vosges, and closes on to championship leader Alain Prost (Dacia Duster).

Dayraut was dominant during all the week-end, as he was fastest in qualifying heats, won his two finals, to conclude in the lead in overall classification at the end of both rounds.

Alain Prost (Dacia Duster), the championship leader, tried to minimize the return of Dayraut at the championship. The five time F1 world champion secured 3rd and 2nd place in Saint-Dié : he is still first in provisional classification, but now stands only three points ahead of Dayraut, with three races remaining.

Jacques Villeneuve (Skoda Fabia) maintains its 10th spot in the championship standings after this round. The Canadian driver ranked ninth in the final two rounds, held on a very special track because the ice had disappeared on a good half of the route, leaving competitors ride on asphalt.
