Laury Thilleman, Miss France 2011, will make her ice racing debut when she drives the Skoda electric car in the fourth round of the Andros Trophy this weekend in Isola 2000, France.

Thilleman will be the third Miss France to tackle the series after Nathalie Marquay and Elodie Gossuin.

The 20-year-old is a fierce competitor, having played basketball, volleyball and done track and field since the age of six.

She also raced karts for the fun of it after her father Fabrice let her drive a rental machine.

« I was just hooked on karting. After I won the Miss France competition, I had the chance to test an electric kart during the Master ERDF event in Paris Bercy last December with new Toro Rosso F1 driver Jean-Eric Vergne as my teacher ! » she said in a Skoda press release.

Vergne also took the young lady to last year's Monaco Grand Prix. « My favourite driver is Sebastian Vettel. I think he's a very good lad, » she declared.

Thilleman is fully aware that her debut in ice racing won't be easy. “If I am a good driver? she smiled. I don't know... I love driving, maybe just a bit too fast sometimes...” he replied.
