At the very least, GM Inside News is leaving the door open: it surfaced that GM had reapplied in early May at the US Patent and Trademark Office for the famous Riviera nameplate. May 30th, it was the GNX and Grand National nameplates turn to resurface.
The applications were, amongst others, for car accessories such as floor mats, and for car names.
Neither of the GNX or Grand National appelations have being used by Buick since the late 80's. But beware! This doesn't mean GM is ready to bring the two models back.
It must be said, the manufacturer did resuscitate the Regal model last year, which was a modest version of the Grand National and GNX.
Dreaming permitted…
