In the first race of The Atlantic Championship doubleheader at Road America, Jonathan Bomarito became the first two-time winner of the season and climbs up to third in the series standings.
Driving for Mathiasen Motorsports, Bomarito took the lead right from the start and led all but one lap en route to a victory over polesitter Dane Cameron who finished second for Genoa Racing.
Returning veteran Tonis Kasemets finished third while Carl Skerlong and series leader James Hinchcliffe finished respectively fourth and fifth.
Canadian Kevin Lacroix who was starting from tenth came up the field and was even fourth at one time before being sidelined by Junior Strous and finally finishing eight before sanctioned by the officials and classified in 14th place.
