Formula Atlantic series’ leader Simona DeSilvestro won the Grand Prix of Trois-Rivieres on Sunday after earning a record setting pole yesterday.

Simona De Silvestro

The Swiss driver started on the first row and managed to maintain her lead all through the race although her rivals were not really far behind.

John Edwards was never far behind and the American had the pace to put the pressure on De Silvestro, especially in last laps of the race, but to no avail and, in the end, had to settle for second place a mere 0.886 seconds behind.

Jonathan Summerton finished in third, but did not have the pace to battle it out with either De Silvestro or Edwards and the gap between him and the two top finishers was more than 4.474 seconds.

Only 11 cars competed in the race.
