All signs now point to Audi unveiling a new electric crossover concept at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September. Company insiders told Automotive News that the vehicle will be based on the second-generation MLB platform and feature extremely aerodynamic styling.
These same sources also hinted at plug-in hybrid and fuel cell variants of the new electric crossover from Audi. R&D boss Ulrich Hackenberg recently said at CES Asia that total range would exceed 500 kilometres.
Obviously, this is a direct response to the upcoming and highly anticipated Tesla Model X crossover, not to mention plug-in hybrid competitors from Porsche and BMW.
