Autonomous vehicles: Where are they legal?

Autonomous or self-driving vehicles are not legally allowed to drive across the entire continent. Right now, only a handful of U.S. states have authorized them, while nearly 20 others are debating the matter. Two states have explicitly made autonomous vehicles illegal.
