Pascal Bastien

Pascal has always been fascinated by all things mechanical. As a 5-year-old, he was already dirt racing on his 70 cc mini-motocross. At the age of 14, during his first official motocross racing season, he finished 15th out of 32 competitors in the 250 cc class. He has been quenching his thirst for speed ever since, racing motorcycles, ATVs, and snowmobiles alike. In 1999, Pascal discovered a new "hobby": car racing. After several advanced driving courses and 6,000 kilometres of track tests, Pascal embarked on his first season of Solo Sprint racing. He finished second in the Solo Sprint class in 2001, was crowned champion of the Super Stock class in 2002, and became the overall leader in the Modified class the following year. Pascal crowned his first season of road racing by winning the circuit's Rookie of the Year award, and followed it up the next year by finishing first in the regional GTU series and second in the provincial GTU series. As a professional writer, Pascal started out as a contributor for the tuning section of H. Grégoire's automotive magazine. He then worked as a motorcycle and automotive journalist for Automag, Motomag, and the Annuel de la moto. He joined the Auto123 team in 2006, as an automotive contributor (Auto123.com) and motorsports journalist (Moto123.com).
