American luxury brand Buick is turning into quite the international superstar for General Motors. Despite carrying only three vehicles on our shores, they've received numerous awards for quality and customer satisfaction- not to mention the AJAC SUV of the Year designation in the over-$35,000 category. Buick is also making strides in the Chinese market, where affluent buyers are taking to the luxurious style and value offered by the brand.

Enhancing Buick's global design presence is the goal of a new show-car model called the Invicta- a luxurious model that will be on display in China at the Beijing Motor Show on April 19th. The car reflects the way parent-company General Motors uses design and engineering talent from around the world to create vehicles that appeal to customers across borders of culture and locale.

Invicta was developed by designers in North America and China to meet customer expectations in the world's largest car-buying markets. "Buick's global appeal created an opportunity for GM Design Centers to elevate our collaboration to new levels. Using our virtual reality centers in Warren, Mich. and Shanghai, designers fused the best ideas from both cultures during the development of the Invicta, " said Edward T. Welburn, VP of Global Design at GM.

"The result will set a new design standard for Buick, and it couldn't have been achieved by one studio working in isolation. The Invicta represents another significant design milestone in Buick's history."

Invicta is the Latin word for 'invincible', in case you were wondering.
