Cadillac has just announced a new, top-end, high-technology vehicle that will rank above the current XTS, with the goal of “lifting the Cadillac range by entering the elite class of top-level luxury cars,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen.
Production is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2015 at the Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant.
The official name of the vehicle will be unveiled shortly, Cadillac promised.
Autoblog reported a few weeks ago that we could see the new prestige model for the first time at the New York Auto Show next April. It will apparently be inspired by the Elmiraj concept, which debuted at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance last year, and feature rear-wheel drive along with numerous advanced technologies.
