If you love camping and your MINI (nearly) equally but have never figured out how to merge the two, you’ll be delighted to hear that MINI is about to offer the Cowley caravan. Decked out in John Cooper Works’ signature red and black, the Cowley caravan offers two sleeping berths, a mini-kitchen complete with twin-burner gas stove, water tank with pump and dishwashing facility, solar module to charge the on-board battery, and a 230-volt power connection for the refrigerator, TV/DVD and stereo.
Its side doors have sliding windows, harkening to the pre-1969 Classic Mini. The trailer is only 12 cm wider than a MINI Clubman and weighs just under 300 kg (661 lb).
For those with John Cooper Works’ models that don’t allowing trailer-towing, a Swindon roof-top can be easily fitted to your MINI, MINI Clubman or MINI Countryman to also offer sleeping space for two. Just climb up on the roof, lift the upper half of the tent-box, and plump those pillows.
