Federal Industry Minister Tony Clement announced that the Governments of Canada and Ontario have agreed to invest 3.4 billions of dollars to help the automotive industry in Canada.
The CAW (Canadian Auto Workers) has reacted positively, citing that the funds will keep Canadian facilities viable for a long time. About 135,000 jobs are directly linked to the Canadian automotive industry, and another 300,000 are indirectly linked to it.
