Here’s an overview of the Transport Canada’s recommended recalls this week:
2011 Honda CR-Z (619 units)
On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, specific operating conditions could allow the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to activate the engine stall prevention assist software.
This in turn could inadvertently command the hybrid system's electric motor to rotate the engine in the opposite direction, causing the vehicle to move in the reverse direction of that expected.
2006 Honda CR-V (13,151 units)
Cleaner residue could infiltrate the driver’s power window switch, allowing the switch to overheat and melt.
This could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury.
Dealers will replace the master power window switch with an updated version.
