Set to make its market debut in early 2011, the wraps were taken off of the brand-new Audi A6. Although the manufacturer claims a choice of 5 engine options available in Europe, it is more likely that North American versions will be powered by the same 300-horsepower, supercharged 3.0-litre V6 that is used in the current-generation car. It was also told that a hybrid version will be available at a later date.

Transmission choices in North America should include the continuously-variable multitronic and the s-tronic dual-clutch automated gearbox. Front-drive and all-wheel drive quattro variants will still be offered.
Esthetically speaking, the complete redesign of the A6 gives it an obvious family resemblance with the smaller
A4 and bigger
A8. Inside, the 2012 A6 will feature a new-generation MMI (Multimedia Interface), an optional head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System.
