A few automakers are turning their backs on the auto show in Motor City, but that won't stop the venue from being an exciting one.

Besides the Honda Insight and GM's trio of 2010 models including the Buick LaCrosse/Allure, Cadillac SRX and Chevrolet Equinox, many other intros will take place.

Toyota will unveil its long-awaited 2010 Prius, and will also present a new Lexus hybrid model.

Ford is tight-lipped about what they will be presenting, but it will talk profusely about their upcoming range hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrids and full electric vehicles.

Chrysler is also keeping their mouths closed, but they have scheduled three world debuts. It might be the ENVI-developed vehicles, the Dodge EV, Jeep EV and Chrysler EV, or a new subcompact outsourced from Nissan that was announced earlier this year.

MINI will take the cover off of the new Cooper Convertible, while BMW will be announcing something big, but are keeping details for themselves. Audi will present two world debuts, while Bentley and Volkswagen will each introduce a brand-new model. Maserati will have its GranTurismo S on display.

From Asia, Chinese manufacturers Brilliance and BYD will debut new models, while Kia will present a new concept vehicle. Finally, Mazda will show off the 5-door version of its new 3.

More details on the Detroit Auto Show will surface in the next few weeks.
