AFS Trinity Corporation has just announced that it will be pulling its XH150 hybrid SUV from the Los Angeles Auto Show and presenting it elsewhere in the city during that period. This announcement follows the decision of the manufacturers and the Los Angeles Auto Show authorities to muzzle AFS Trinity, as the fuel consumption of their vehicle has not been verified by the EPA.

According to the president of the company, Edward W. Furia, we have the right to seriously question the judgment, vision, intentions and management of these so-called green organisations that spend millions of dollars to develop fuel-efficient vehicles.

The XH150 is a hybrid vehicle capable of a consumption rating of 1.57 litres per 100 kilometres, or 150 miles per gallon (hence the XH150 name). This rating is based on typical usage: 60 kilometres per day, six days a week, and 130 kilometres on the weekend, for a grand total of 490 kilometres. The first 60 kilometres are driven on battery power alone; as for the remaining weekend kilometres, the vehicle only consumes 7.56 litres of fuel. This allows for a combined rating of 1.57 L / 100 km.
