With a little over a month to go before the Frankfurt auto show, almost all manufacturers are gradually revealing the vehicles they will bring to the party. Audi will exhibit its urban concept, a small, green and original urban at the cutting edge of technology.

The manufacturer claims that its radical two-seater (1+1) and its huge 21-inch wheels combines elements of both a racing and an urban car. At first glance, it is rather difficult to define in which category it is placed.

However, no need to place it in a niche to realize that this Audi is totally different. After all, it displays a unique design compared to what the company has shown us over the years.

The inspiration of the racing world will inevitably be transmitted by light materials, a must. Consequently, the urban concept is designed to not carry one extra pound. The cockpit consists of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, for instance.

To climb in, the driver has to open the roof, an unusual and probably quite painful, exercise not to say the least. Remember, however, that it is a concept vehicle and therefore is unlikely to be marketed as is.

Once seated, the driver will be able to adjust the steering wheel and pedals depending on his body measurements. Once done, he will be ready to explore the urban world in the car without using one drop of gasoline, the car being powered by two e-tron electric motors and a lithium-ion battery.
