Whitby, ON - BMW Group Canada announced today the appointment of Franz Jung, President & CEO, BMW Group Canada effective April 1, 2009. Mr. Jung joins BMW Group Canada from BMW Nordic in Stockholm, Sweden where he served as President and Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Jung started his career with BMW Group in 1996 as Regional Manager Sales, Rover Group Germany when Rover was owned by BMW. Since then, he has held various BMW and MINI senior management positions in Germany, Mexico, China and Central Eastern Europe. Mr. Jung has extensive experience in the automobile industry. Prior to joining BMW Group, he worked at Fiat Automobil AG Germany, Honda Germany and Mercedes-Benz AG in a variety of technical and sales related roles. Mr. Jung will succeed Mr. Lindsay Duffield who is the first Canadian-born President of BMW Group Canada. Mr. Duffield joined BMW Group Canada as President & CEO in September, 2004. During his tenure, Mr. Duffield led the company to its 18th consecutive year of sales increases and to the position of #1 premium automotive company in Canada.
