General Motors is busy getting ready for their hometown show and has announced three more vehicles that will be on display.

The beautiful CTS sedan will spawn a Sport Wagon version, which will target buyers currently seeking to dump their SUVs. On sale next summer, the 2010 CTS Sport Wagon will offer 720 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats.

The sedan's 304-hp, 3.6-litre V6 with direct injection will also be on duty in the wagon, but a new base V6 engine will be available; it will displace 3.0 litres and will also feature direct injection for an estimated 255 horsepower. In Europe, where wagons are much more popular, a 250-hp, 2.9-litre 24-valve turbodiesel V6 will be offered. All-wheel drive will be optional.

The 2011 Chevrolet Cruze has been announced earlier this year as a global-market compact and the replacement of the Cobalt, and will go on sale in the first half of 2010.

The Cruze will be powered by a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine that is said to deliver better fuel economy than the Cobalt XFE, and will produce an estimated 140 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque. A 138-hp, 1.8-litre 4-cylinder engine will also be available, as well as a choice of 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

Three trim levels of the Cruze will be offered: LS, LT and LTZ.

The Chevrolet Orlando concept is a 7-passenger, compact crossover that is based on the Cruze sedan. If the reaction is strong, GM might build the Orlando and sell it globally.

Again, fuel efficiency is the priority, as the vehicle is powered by a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine that develops 150 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque.

Inside the Orlando, the 2nd and 3rd rows of seats fold flat in the floor to maximize cargo space. It rides on a 2,760-mm wheelbase, which is long for a compact-sized vehicle.
