Saab's all new, 2010 9-4X CUV has now shed all of its camouflage, except for fake taillight covers. The production model looks very much like the Saab BioPower concept that debuted at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show last January.
Codenamed GMT168, this Saab is expected to start production at the Ramos Arizpe plant in late 2009, although it might now be delayed by several months. It will be based on GM's new TE (Theta-Epsilon) chassis, and will share this platform with the 2010 Cadillac SRX. Unlike the 9-7X, this model will be sold globally.
In addition to regular gasoline motors, the 9-4x will pack a new 250hp/406 ft-lb diesel engine developed by GM and VM Motori. Saab's "XWD" all-wheel-drive system will also be available.
