2010 Chevrolet Equinox
The popular Chevrolet Equinox SUV is set to enter the 2010 model year with a complete update, restyle and new powertrain lineup.
Under the hood, a new set of engines provide optimized performance and mileage. Owners can choose either a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine or a three-litre V6. Both feature direct injection and variable valve timing technology, and are expected to turn in very respectable fuel efficiency.
A full suite of airbags will be standard, alongside stability control and OnStar.
Look for a more sculpted, sporty and sophisticated appearance from any angle, alongside improved handling thanks to a wider front track.
With better mileage, striking looks and cutting-edge safety and engine offerings, Equinox should stir things up in the hot crossover SUV market when it goes on sale about halfway through 2009.

Cadillac's popular SRX luxury crossover has been under the knife and to the stylists, and its highly anticipated reveal is taking place at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The big news is the edgy, dynamic and more energetic styling, complete with huge chrome wheels and a forward-leaning stance that appears to be pouncing into the road's surface.
Notable hardware includes a standard 3.0-litre, direct-injected V6 which should turn out about 260 horsepower alongside top-notch mileage. A turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 is available too. No more Northstar engine.
