It one of the many statements made to the journalists covering the Detroit Show, Sergio Marchionne revealed that the next Maserati SUV would be motivated by a Ferrari engine.
We’d already learned that the model would be based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and we can now expect it to be equipped with a V8 and/or V12 by the prancing horse brand as well as be assembled in Detroit.
The president and CEO of Chrysler and Fiat (who owns the Italian automaker) also mentioned that the vehicle would be revealed at some time in 2012.
The SUV will reportedly fetch between 80,000 and 100,000 USD.
