Not that long ago, if a car maker wanted to be seen and noticed, they had to have some show-floor space at the Detroit auto show. No doubt, times have really changed. Although the Cobo Hall still holds its fair share of hot cars, the bulk of the prestige and super-high-end cars were on display at The Gallery, as you may know.

Even if “luxury row”, as some call it, was essentially deserted, we journalists were still treated to some exclusive and sexy steel, aluminum and carbon fibre. Here is my Top 10 performance and super car pick from the show floor. The following are listed in no particular order.

1- Tesla Roadster
:
This two-seater convertible never ceases to amaze me. Every time I look at the specs, I get blown away!! Its 288 hp (215 kW) electric motor will propel the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, it'll travel 244 miles (390 km) between charges (in some cases, a week's worth in distance) and it is assembled by Lotus in the UK. Does that bring anything more to the equation? Have you ever driven a Lotus? Oh yeah!!

2- Bentley Continental GTC Speed
:
Power, stature and prestige are your thing? Well then, the Conti GTC Speed has got it all for you. Its 600 hp 6.0L twin-turbo W12 engine has enough thrust to send this heavy all the way up to 200 mph (322 km/h). How about that for a fast commute? Oh, and if you want to do it with the top down, you'll have to be patient as the top speed drop down to only 195 mph (314 km/h)...
