The Specialty Equipment Market Association, or SEMA show, showcases the hottest offerings in a multi-billion dollar a year industry that includes parts and accessories for luxury cars, muscle cars, trucks and other specialty vehicles.
The show, which takes place in Las Vegas in early November, will once again attract countless automakers and other manufacturers to show off their latest and greatest.
Dodge will be present at the show in a big way, with a selection of highly-customized rides focusing on their new Challenger and Ram models. In a recent press release, the automaker provided details on what show-goers can expect to see at their stand.
The Challenger is making a huge amount of noise this year, even as the months grow colder and winter approaches. Keeping things hot is the one-off Challenger Blacktop model, which is modified by Mopar Underground with custom-made spoilers, a stripe-kit, a Mopar coil-over suspension and a strut tower brace for track-ready handling.
This special Challenger rolls on 22-inch wheels and also includes a cat-back exhaust system, cold air intake and various interior upgrades.
Also on display is a Challenger called "Samantha",a Targa Newfoundland racer built from a out of a modified drag-race machine. Samantha gets Viper-green paint and power from a 540-horsepower, 392 cubic-inch HEMI V8 crate engine backed by race-ready handling and brakes.
Next up, Dodge's Ram TRXtreme builds on the off-roadability of the 2009 Ram TRX. With 4.5 inches of additional lift, 20-inch wheels and BFG 37 by 12.5 sized off-road tires, TRXtrme is the ultimate expression of the Dodge Ram's go-anywhere capability. Wheel flares, step-tubes and a custom paint job complete the package.
A Ram R/T model will also be showcased. Starting life as a 2009 Ram Sport HEMI, the R/T gets a 4.10 gear and high-stall torque converter for impressive acceleration. A cold-air intake and Mopar dual exhaust help ensure proper breathing and sound effects. The exterior is painted classic B5 blue with a Mopar dual-snorkel aluminum hood and carbon fiber accent stripes.
Mopar's air suspension kit slams the Ram R/T to the road, while a chin spoiler and 22-inch Alcoa wheels are bolted on for a street-smart and sporty look.
