Wolfsburg / Hanover, - Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber (51) has been appointed Speaker for the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand (Hanover) effective February 1, 2010. He succeeds Stephan Schaller (52), who is leaving the company by mutual agreement.
Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, an engineering graduate, joined the Volkswagen Group in 1984. He was made head of gearbox development at the Volkswagen brand in 1996. He moved to Bugatti Engineering in 2003 to take up the post of technical director, becoming managing director two years later. Schreiber has been the member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles responsible for development since September 2006; he also continues in his post at Bugatti.
Stephan Schaller joined the Volkswagen Group in 2004 as the member of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Board of Management responsible for product manufacturing. He was appointed Speaker of the Board of Management in January 2007. During his term of office, productivity was improved and the new Amarok was developed and launched. The Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft would like to thank him for his service to the company.
