First glimpse of the 2012 Toyota Camry

And a “glimpse” it is.

A few days ago, Toyota released a sneak-peek photo of their brand new 2012 Camry. A simple, angled (and might we add, rendered) shot of the 2012 Camry's front left headlight is all we get. These teaser-type photos are all the rage with automakers these days, and we're less than thrilled with this latest one from Toyota.

Comments on their Twitter announcement confirm what we felt around the office; the headlight immediately brings to mind the Acura TSX, then the Kia Optima ... basically, not very original.

For a car that's been referred to as “boring” and “vanilla” in the past, we hope Toyota can really pull this one out of the hat for their grand reveal (of more than a headlight) at the end of the summer.
