Fisker Automotive killed two birds with one stone today, announcing a partnership with BMW and giving us a sneak peek at the new Surf, set to make its first official appearance at the Frankfurt show next week.
The boys in Munich will be supplying Fisker with a turbocharged four to be used in an extended-range, mid-size sedan code named “Project Nina”, which should hit dealerships in 2013.
A visibly pleased Henrik Fisker said “the BMW engine was an obvious choice, as BMW is known for producing the best and most fuel efficient gasoline engines in the world.”
Fisker also released a first image of the Surf, giving us a good idea of where it’s going with its next car.
According to the only information made available, the crossover-like Surf will be motivated by the same powertrain as the Karma luxury sedan, the only Fisker product to have been marketed to date.
