TORONTO, - Free GO Train and GO Bus rides will once again be offered by GO Transit this New Year's Eve, starting from 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 31 until service ends for the evening.
"Leave your car at home and let GO get you to and from the festivities this year," says GO Transit Managing Director Gary McNeil. "We're thrilled to be able to provide this annual free service for our customers and offer them a safe and comfortable alternative to driving."
Some regularly scheduled Lakeshore line trains from Union Station will be leaving later than usual. The 11:13 p.m. Lakeshore East train to Oshawa GO Station will leave Union Station thirty minutes later at 11:43 p.m. The last Lakeshore East train will leave an hour later at 1:13 a.m., making all stops to Oshawa. At Oshawa, both buses to Peterborough and Newcastle will hold for the connection. The last Lakeshore West train will leave at 1:13 a.m., making all stops to Aldershot GO Station. The connecting bus to Hamilton will hold for the connection. The last westbound bus to Grimsby will provide a connection in Burlington.
A special late-night bus trip will depart from York Mills GO Bus Terminal at 2:10 a.m., making all regular stops to Brampton. Other bus trip times may vary depending on the route, so customers should check with GO before making plans.
