Hyundai promised a coupe variant of the highly acclaimed Genesis sedan, and they're gearing up to deliver it next year.

The Genesis Coupe will make its first on-screen appearance in the form of two television commercials that will air during Super Bowl XLIII in February. The commercial spots will be 30 seconds in length and position the coupe as a performance machine designed to capture the hearts of automotive enthusiasts, Hyundai says.

Formula-D champ Rhys Millen will pilot the Genesis through some precision driving moves choreographed to music. The two commercials will feature the same theme but be edited differently and feature different music.

"Genesis Coupe is Hyundai's most dynamic performance car ever and it is the second-consecutive all-new model introduction from Hyundai to debut during the Super Bowl," said Joel Ewanick, vice president of Marketing at Hyundai Motor America. "So many elements come together in these advertisements that showcase the Genesis Coupe's design and performance that we know it will cast a halo over the entire brand."

Power for the Genesis will come from a two-liter turbo four cylinder engine with 210 horsepower, or a 3.8 liter V6 with 306 horsepower. The latter is intended as a track-ready model and comes with Brembo brakes and various other upgrades.

Genesis Coupe commercials air February 1st, and the model is set for sale in the spring.
