Hyundai Canada told Auto123.com that the Elantra Touring will be taking a big sip from the fountain of youth next year, and the resulting model will be heavily inspired by the new i30 revealed in Frankfurt last month.
With its typical European flair, the car will be introduced in Canada and the US in May 2012 as a 2013 model.
The Korean automaker didn’t want to give us any further info concerning the specs of the North American model, however.
In Europe, the i30 is powered by a 1.6-litre, 133-hp four-cylinder similar to the 2012 Accent’s mill, and features low rolling resistance tires, ABS, a stability control system and six airbags.
We can expect Hyundai, true to its habits, to adopt an aggressive pricing scheme and stuff the Elanta Touring chock full of standard equipment.
